Welcome

Welcome to the 2007 IRU Australia Forum on Leadership in Learning and Teaching, to be held at Macquarie University in Sydney. This Forum follows the successful Learning and Teaching Forum Master Class hosted by Flinders University in November 2006 and the Science and Technology Forum held at Macquarie University in June 2006.

In recognition of the outcomes of the 2006 Forums and the priorities of the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, this Forum focuses on the practice and associated challenges of leading learning and teaching.

The Forum aims to facilitate discussion and sharing of practices between members of IRU Australian universities on a wide range of issues related to leadership of learning and teaching.

We will also consider how the opportunities that the Carrick Institute now offers might be more effectively harnessed to assist in further developing the leadership of learning and teaching across the IRU Australia group.

Dates and Venue

The Forum will be held on June 28 th-29 th, at Macquarie University in Sydney.

All Forum sessions will take place in the SAM (Students At Macquarie) Function Rooms, Level 3, SAM building, Macquarie University. The Forum dinner on June 28 th will be held in the same venue. Pre-dinner drinks will be held in the Macquarie Gallery.

Accommodation will be arranged for you on campus at the Travelodge Macquarie. Please follow the links at left for more information and to register online (including accommodation booking if required).

Forum hosts

The Forum is jointly organised by Macquarie University and the University of Newcastle, with the Forum Organising Group composed of Directors and staff from the Macquarie University Centre for Professional Development (CPD) and Newcastle University Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
