While the Centre offers university-wide programs on aspects of learning and teaching, research and practice in universities in Australia and overseas, indicate that more effective change and development occurs when groups or teams of people work together to develop an aspect of their curriculum or teaching, which they believe is important to their own context.

Therefore, CPD offers support for the development of programs specifically designed for teaching, curriculum and organisational development, whether it be for individual courses, Departments, or Divisions. Programs supported in the past have included

• cross-cultural issues in teaching
• internationalisation of the curriculum
• postgraduate supervision
• the integration of teaching generic skills into the curriculum and
• improving the first year experience of students
• induction and support for sessional staff
• needs analyses of e-learning capacity

Of course this list is not prescriptive, and Departments may identify other priorities for development. The Teaching and (e)Learning Development team are happy to discuss priorities with Departments and to help them devise professional development programs that will assist in realising these priorities.
